1. Overview
You can delete your Anymo account and the personal data associated with it at any time. This page explains how to request deletion, what we delete immediately, what we retain (and why), and how long the process takes.
If you have any questions about deletion, contact us at admin@anymo.app.
2. How to Delete Your Account
2.1 In-App Deletion (Recommended — Self-Serve)
The fastest way to delete your account is from inside the Anymo mobile app:
- Open the Anymo app and sign in.
- Tap the menu icon to open the side drawer, then tap Profile.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm the action in the dialog. Your account will be deleted immediately.
2.2 Email Request (If You Cannot Access the App)
If you no longer have the app installed, lost access to your registered mobile number, or otherwise cannot complete the in-app flow, send an email from your registered email address to:
To: admin@anymo.app
Subject: Delete my Anymo account
Include: Your registered mobile number (with country code) and the email address linked to your Anymo account.
We may ask you to verify ownership of the account before processing the request (for example, by replying from the registered email or confirming a one-time code sent to your registered mobile number). This protects you from unauthorised deletion requests.
3. What Gets Deleted
When your deletion request is processed, we permanently remove the following from our active systems:
- Profile data — name, email address, mobile number, profile photo, brand logo, address, and GPS coordinates.
- Listings and inventory — products you listed, photos, pricing, and availability data.
- Cart contents — any items in your shopping cart.
- Messages — conversations you sent or received within the app.
- Ratings and reviews — ratings and review text you authored.
- Authentication artefacts — OTP codes, refresh tokens, and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) push notification tokens.
- Subscription record — your active subscription row.
- Cached crash and error reports — any device-level diagnostic data tied to your user ID in Sentry and Firebase Crashlytics is purged on the standard retention schedule of those services.
4. What We Retain (and Why)
A small subset of data must be kept after account deletion for legal, financial, and safety reasons. Wherever possible, this retained data is anonymised or de-identified so it can no longer be linked back to you.
- Completed rental transactions, invoices, and tax records — retained for up to 8 years as required by the Income Tax Act, 1961 and the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 (India). These records may include your name, mobile number, billing address, and transaction details, since invoices issued under GST law cannot be altered after issuance.
- Payment dispute and chargeback evidence — retained until the dispute is resolved with the payment processor (Cashfree) and any associated bank.
- Anti-fraud and abuse signals — if your account was deleted in connection with platform-policy violations (fraud, harassment, prohibited listings), we retain a hashed identifier of your mobile number and email so that the same person cannot immediately re-register and repeat the violation.
- Aggregated and anonymised analytics — aggregate metrics (e.g., "total rentals in a category last month") that contain no personal identifiers may be retained indefinitely.
Retained data is held in restricted-access systems and is not used to contact you or to build an advertising profile.
5. Timeline
- In-app deletion — your account is soft-deleted immediately and you are signed out. Background jobs hard-delete personal data within 30 days.
- Email request — we acknowledge your request within 3 working days and complete the deletion within 7 working days of verifying account ownership.
- Backups — encrypted database backups are rotated on a 30-day cycle. Personal data may persist in those backups for up to 30 days after deletion, after which it is overwritten.
6. After Deletion
Once deletion is complete:
- You will not be able to sign in to your old account.
- You will stop receiving any push notifications, transactional emails, or SMS from Anymo.
- You may register a new account at any time using the same mobile number or a different one. The new account starts fresh and is not linked to the deleted one.
